One of three imaginatively created cottages, formerly barns of Stoke Grange Farm, set in the lovely countryside beside the Shropshire Union Canal. The conversion won the 1991 Cheshire Tourism Award. All have the original exposed beams in the walls upstairs, tastefully furnished and fully equipped. There are good walks from the door, and two pubs a ten minute walk along the canal towpath to the village of Barbridge. There is canal side fishing on the farm, lawns down tot he canal and a "Pets Corner" with two goats Lady and Ben, hens, peafowl, geese, lambs in Spring, which you can feed to them all bread, vegetable peelings, fruit and carrots. Also come and meet our two dogs, Sally the Labrador and Brandy a Corgi/ Labrador cross, also our four cats, Susie, black and white Cheshire cat, Pearl our short haired grey, Tammy Persian tricolour and Kim an old English tabby.
Approximately, 1mile is the old salt town of Nantwich and fifteen miles the other side is Chester a fine Roman walled City with Elizabethan rows and Shops, a fine Cathedral and the River Deef for boating and trips. Chester Zoo is just outside on the Liverpool Road, Stapeley and Bridgemere gardens are just outside Nantwich. Little Moreton Hall, Beeston Castle and many more sights well worth a visit.
We are on the borders of Shropshire, Wales and Staffordshire where you can visit the Wedgwood visitor centre and china factory shops. Alton Towers 30 miles away.
1. Stoke Grange Mews is a four bedroom house, with two double rooms, one single room and a family room. One large Bathroom with a separate shower and bath. Another toilet and washbasin downstairs off the hall. A large lounge with fireplace colour TV and video recorder, a separate dining room. A cherry wood kitchen fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave, fridge/ freezer and eye level cooker. Separate utility room with washer/ dryer. Heated by storage heaters, and extra heating in bedrooms.
2/3. Stoke Grange Mews are approximately the same size and set up, different furniture and carpets. Two bedroom, one double, one with adult sized bunkbeds and a cot. The other cottage has one double room and one with adult size bunk beds and a single bed. A bed settee extra in the lounge in both cottages. Lounge/ Dining room with colour television, video recorder and music centre. Kitchen fully equipped with fridge/ freezer, microwave, oven, dishwasher, washer/ dryer and a dining area.
There is coarse fishing in the canal. Walks across fields along public footpaths, or the towpath. Bicycle riding routes, bring your bicycle. Golf nearby.
15 minutes from Crewe, 30 minutes from Chester, forty minutes from Manchester and Liverpool airports.
