    Rudloe Park Estate was once the large country house of a landed estate, built in an unrivalled position overlooking Bath and surrounded by some of the prettiest countryside around Bath. Stunning views with a spectacular view 6 miles down the Box Valley to Bath.

    The beautiful Gothic architecture of this fine old house provides the ideal setting for re-creating the style and charm of a more elegant and leisured age.
    Our aim is to make you feel like a special guest in our beautiful Victorian Country Home in the West. In keeping with this, life at Rudloe Park is not rushed, the pace is relaxed with the emphasis on warm, friendly service.

    The History of Rudloe Park Estate and Rudloe Hall Hotel

    The main house was built at the turn of the century - circa 1800 by Judd Pictor, a larger-than-life local businessman. Today we'd call him an entrepreneur. Judd was a self-made man and a flamboyant social climber, eager to display his wealth. Of his many business interests, two related to Rudloe Hall. He was the local Postmaster, and was responsible for the lucrative local Stage Coach Mail run from Bristol, through Bath and on to London. He was also a quarry master, owning a very large estate in the Box, Corsham area, and he was the major supplier of the beautiful, honey-coloured Bath stone that Bath is so famous for today.

    :: ACCOMMODATION

    'dear Love, for nothing less than thee would I have broke this happy dream' - John Donne

    Dine by candle and firelight. Most rooms have antique working Victorian fireplaces - set upon request - by our 'upstairs/downstairs' staff. Antique decor, 4 poster beds and some delightful Victorian bathing alcoves create the atmosphere of an elegant bygone era.

    Imagine yourself in an antique roll-top bathtub...push aside the screen and savour the romance of your blazing open fire and 4 poster bed, Victorian style! Our bedrooms have been designed to complement the style and elegance of this marvellous old house.

    Dining by Candlelight in your own room and in front of your own open fire...with waiter service, course by course - just like something from a Cary Grant movie!

    The Tower Suite
    This unique, rather eccentric suite is a real joy. There are 3 separate rooms. A large beamed-ceiling bedroom,with a lounge and working Victorian fireplace and with all rooms having arched stone mullion windows. It has a large Victorian en-suite with twin Victorian wash hand basins and a big roll-top bath and shower. A stairway leads to the tower sitting room with a sunny stone balcony and an open-air hot water spa bath - a lovely room to take breakfast.. Above this room is the delightful single bedroom for that extra guest. All the windows in all rooms are arched stone mullioned with incredible views. In this suite you are right on top of Rudloe Hall - right on top of Box Hill.

    All Rooms in Rudloe Hall are unique, with no two alike.

    All bedrooms have en-suite bathing with period and antique furnishings and decor. Many have tall stone mullioned windows with lounge and dining settings in front of working Victorian coal fires. All have delightful views of the garden, woodland, hills or valley and have been individually decorated and furnished giving each its own unique character and charm.

    The Bishop 4 Poster, known also as The Master's Room, has its own lovely lounge and dining setting around the coal fire, plus chaise lounge. An exceptionally large room with a massive 17th Century heavily carved four Poster oak bed (full tester). Woodland views and across the hills over to Colerne.

    Most other rooms have high ceilings - many with high stone mullion bay windows and beautiful antique mahogany 4 Poster beds, with a lounge and dining setting around a Victorian working coal fireplace and lovely views of the lawns and Victorian Gardens. Some rooms have Victorian Bathing Alcoves, where you can fold back the Victorian screen and relax whilst soaking in your rolltop bathtub in front of a blazing fire - with a glass of bubbly - plus a large en-suite bathroom. Some have the best views down the Box Valley to the very beautiful, romantic and ancient Roman City of Bath.
