  • Cannon Croft Hope Valley - Gold Award Winning bed and breakfast in Hathersage, Derbyshire, Peak District
Cannon Croft is an award winning Derbyshire bed and breakfast for those in search of independently proven quality accommodation in the Peak District National Park. Situated in the picturesque village of Hathersage which nestles in one of Britain's areas of outstanding beauty. Here you can enjoy stunning panoramic views from the heated conservatory all year round. You can watch the many birds, drink in the breath taking scenery, chat or simply relax with a drink, taken on the sun terrace in warmer weather.

Cannon Croft bed and breakfast accommodation received an English Tourism Council (now Visit Britain) four-diamond silver award the first year of opening (1999) and a gold award for excellence every year since. We are delighted to be the only bed and breakfast accommodation in Hathersage to be recommended by Holiday Which, and have been recommended by Country walking magazine "Expect a warm welcome and a hearty breakfast, served in the conservatory so you get great views", and Food and Travel magazine "Hole up at Cannon Croft, famous for its hearty hospitality and world-class breakfasts". Our peak District Accommodation is also featured in Country Living guide to rural England "everything here is outstanding from the welcome to the setting, the views, the comfortable accommodation and the splendid breakfasts.

The bed rooms, like the rest of the house, are kept in apple pie order, and all have en-suite facilities, central heating, TV, hospitality tray and the thoughtful extras that make a stay here an occasion to remember".

Whether this is your first experience in bed and breakfast accommodation or a regular visitor we are sure you will appreciate the warmth of our welcome, attention to detail and our extensive breakfast menu, which set us apart from the rest. Try our Sundancer eggs or indulge in an English or Derbyshire breakfast, smoked salmon eggs, haddock or kipper for example, all excellently cooked using the best of ingredients, such as local sausages etc. and finishing off with home made preserves and toast. Vegetarians too have an imaginative menu! Our guests speak for themselves!

We are well known for our welcome and friendliness, enjoy a drink on arrival on the sun terrace, or in the conservatory, delight in the panoramic views and flower arrangers garden, absorb the ambiance while you decide which of the many eating places to visit, within easy walking distance, before settling down for a good nights sleep.

Prices from £27.00 per person per night (based on two sharing a double room). See tariff for more information & Christmas tariff.

All bed rooms are en-suite, and can be either twin, double or triple, have central heating and are fully equipped with colour TV's, VCR's, hospitality trays, clock radios, hair dryers, plus many more 'extras' to help make your stay memorable. The standard of cleanliness is exceptional as is the friendliness and caring attention provided throughout your stay, in keeping with our Gold Award status.

Cannon Croft bed and breakfast is hidden away, approximately 150 meters from the road, with plenty of private parking. We are not licensed, however if you would like to "bring your own" we will happily provide the glasses.

Hathersage has historical connections with Charlotte Bronte who lived and taught for a short while here and featured many aspects of the village in "Jane Eyre". There is also a heated outdoor swimming pool, and at the Church of England there is the grave of "Little John", one of Robin Hood's merry men. Our bed and breakfast accommodation is conveniently situated for Chatsworth House, Hardwick and Haddon Halls, the Caverns at Castleton, the "Plague village" of Eyam, and Lady Bower where the Dambusters trained are all a short drive away.
We are a nonsmoking establishment and regretfully can not take pets or children under 12 years.

Coming for a special occasion? Then we will be happy to arrange for flowers, chocolates and / or champagne to be waiting in the room, we are happy to do this at no extra cost other than the direct cost of the 'extras'.

Now open all year and Christmas. Christmas Lunch Menu.
