Out and About at Highland Lodges

Wildlife is thriving around the site especially at dawn and dusk. Pine Martins emerge at dusk seeking food. Once a threatened species, the population has increased and these creatures seem to attract a lot of interest from our visitors.
In the sky, Golden and Sea Eagles can be seen as with Osprey and deer which come down from the mountain tops to seek shelter.

These are but a few of the wildlife that inhabit the region.

Further afield on the shores of the Moray Firth, bottle nose dolphins, sea otters, seals and abundance of bird species.

Whatever your preference there’s plenty of boat trips to take you further afield to experience the unique wildlife of the area.

The lodges are sited for easy access to Fort William some 22 miles away. Fort William provides for all tastes, whether seeking a leisurely stroll or a challenging walk up Ben Nevis or perhaps a bit of shopping. Lots to see and well worth a visit.

There’s also a chance to experience the Nevis Range, Britain’s only cable car trip up Aonach Mor (4006ft) which sits beside Ben Nevis.
See the views towards Loch Lochy, Loch Eil and maybe on a clear day the Inner Hebrides. On reaching your destination height of 2,150ft the Snowgoose Restaurant awaits you. Mountain cyclist can use the cable car for an easy ride up and then experience a truly exhilarating descend.

Inverness is some 40 miles away where you can visit the site of the Battle of Culloden and Cawdor Castle among other attractions.

You can also visit the Isle of Skye, 50 miles away, which boasts exceptional scenery on route. There’s lots of pamphlets for things to do within the area in every lodge.
