    HADRIAN'S WALL was designated a World Heritage Site in 1987 and is the most important monument built by the Romans in Britain. It is the best known frontier in the entire Roman Empire and stands as a reminder of one of the world's greatest civilisations.

    Spanning nearly 2,000 years of history, dramatic and wild landscapes,towns and cities, a visit to Hadrian's Wall is a must for anyone living or visiting the North East of England. Forts, museums and local events bring Roman history to life. Local walks have been developed which take you through spectacular countryside.

    The 'Old Repeater Station' is a large detached stone building with a slate roof near to the most scenic part of Hadrian's Wall. I converted it during 2003/2004 making extensive use of eco / green technology including geothermal heating and wood burning stoves.

    Whether planning a short walking or cycling holiday, spending a long weekend or even a week or two exploring the surrounding area -- the Lake District, Keilder watersports, Northumberland National Park -- the 'Old Repeater Station' is well placed to serve your needs.
