    The Crown Hotel Coniston, situated in the heart of the English Lake District. Recently refurbished we can now offer a luxurious stay surrounded by some of the worlds finest scenery.

    The Lake district is ideal for all outdoor interests such as walking, fishing, sailing, and mountain biking, or at a slower pace you can enjoy visiting Brantwood (John Ruskins home), Hilltop home of Beatrix Potter, The Ruskin Museum, or take a trip aboard the steam yacht Gondola. see our Information page for more details.

    A warm Lakeland welcome to the Crown Hotel situated in the center of Coniston village. Offering fine ales, good food and superb hospitality. The Hotel has been completely refurbished to a very high standard, to ensure the future comfort of all our guests to enjoy the delights of Coniston and the outlaying district.

    All the bedrooms at the Crown are en-suite with either private bath or shower and are centrally heated. Each has colour television, direct dial telephone plus hair dryer and tea/coffee making facilities.

    :: Coniston Area:
    The tremendous landscape of streams, lakes and mountains including the Coniston Old Man, which rises to 2,633 feet and can be walked in various ways to suit all abilities, and Dow Crag provides some of the best rock climbing in Great Britain, while lake-shore walks to Torver are very popular. Grizedale Forest, which is not far away, is the ideal landscape for Mountain Biking.

    One of the best-known places in the Lake District visited by some three-quarters of a million people a year. This view looks almost due north across the foot of the Langdale valleys towards Helvellyn.

    Special Breaks
    We do a special Two day Break for only £180 for two people in an en-suite room. Price includes Bed and Breakfast (2), Dinner (2) plus one packed lunch.

    We also do a Four day Break from a Sunday till Thursday morning for only £320 for two people. Price includes accommodation in an en-suite room, 4 evening meals, 4 English breakfasts, plus 3 packed lunches to explore the Lake District with.

    Hotel accounts are payable on departure. We accept cheques with a valid cheque card and all major credit cards.

    We regret that pets are not accepted in the hotel bedrooms.

    Telephone reservations must be accompanied by a valid credit card number or with a cheque to confirm booking. Room may be relet after 4.00pm unless confirmation is received.

    How To Find Us
    Leave the M6 at J36 onto the A591 towards Windermmere, continue on to Ambleside. When in Ambleside, take the A593 to Coniston (8miles). When arriving in Coniston pass the Fire station on the left then take the first left, the Crown Hotel is in front of you. stay on this road, the car park is on the left.

    We have a large car park adjacent to the Hotel.
