The rolling Atlantic surf and golden beaches of North Devon are but 10 minutes drive away and yet the cottages and farmhouse at Fairview Farm are set in unspoilt Devon countryside stretching as far as the eye can see - a lawned courtyard of converted stone and cob barns around the farmhouse and surrounded by 13 acres of pasture, with views extending to Dartmoor and to the sea at the Taw estuary.

Although our barns no longer echo to the lowing of cattle, they instead slumber in this peaceful spot, where you are invited to relax and enjoy the sight of buzzards wheeling overhead, swallows nesting in the barn, greenfinch feasting on the rose hips, and blue-tits and bats nesting in our nest boxes.

Amidst this haven of tranquility the cottages themselves are bright and airy, immaculately cleaned for your arrival, all having fine rural views, modern fitted kitchens including microwaves, together with mains gas central heating for those out of season breaks or cooler evenings.

Each 3 Star cottage has a comfortable lounge with colour TV complete with Freeview Satellite Digibox's and modern furnishing. There is extensive parking for boats and trailers and plenty of room for storage of bicycles, surf boards and drying wet-suits, so you can make the most of the famous and award-winning surfing beaches at Woolacombe, Saunton and Croyde.

All linen is provided, except for personal towels and cot linen. Cots, stair-gates, bed guards and high-chairs are also available, and guests have use of shared laundry facilities.

Within our grounds there exists an extensive array of facilities including an all-weather floodlit tennis court, five-acre 9-hole family pitch and putt course, swings, slide, climbing frame and a vast Indoor Play Barn for young children, with ride-on toys, Giant Wendy House, sand pit and ball-pond - a favourite which sometimes even outweighs the beach. Not to forget our games room with its pool table, table tennis, darts and amusements, together with all the information leaflets, maps and local pub, restaurant and takeaway menus which you could possibly need to keep you well informed. Our 13 acres allows plenty of room for your well behaved dog. We even have some wild areas for exploring. Bring your Wellies !

The South West Coast Path allows access to the entire length of this Heritage Coast and includes some of the best cliff walks in the country. Why not escape for the day with the National Trust. Similarly the wilds of Exmoor are but a short drive away, ideal for walking or Pony trekking on the open moorland. The Eden Project is a global garden of the 21st century, a gateway to a sustainable future. A dramatic setting in which to tell the fascinating story of mankinds dependence on plants.

The wide sandy beaches to the west of Fairview Farm, are equally ideal for the bucket and spade enthusiast as for the surfer, yet the rocky bays of the north coast are even closer, with their rock pools, majestic cliffs and sparse safe anchorage. Gardens, stately homes, cinemas, theatres and Restaurants - the choice goes on, but our information leaflets should help you to savour and enjoy as much, or as little, as you choose - for it is your holiday to enjoy!

Devon offers you some of the best walking found anywhere in the world - access to huge tracts of upland and lowland areas over thousands of miles of byways - footpaths and bridleways. Dartmoor National Park & Exmoor National Park authorities both have annual programmes of guided walks showing you not only the best route, but the wildlife - flora and forna of the area. Devon has two of the UK most spectacular coastlines for walking sections of The South West Coast Path. This is the ideal location for a cycling holiday with quiet lanes, many off road and forestry routes, often meandering by the side of a sparkling clean fast flowing river - ideal for canoeing - Devon is the perfect location for activity holidays -- and don't forget our own activity areas
