Abbey Hotel Cheltenham - The hotel has been awarded the grade of 4 Diamonds by the English Tourism Council, which endorses our claim that the accommodation is of "high quality"
Abbey Hotel is a high quality bed & breakfast hotel with competitive rates in the centre of the attractive town of Cheltenham. Whether for business or pleasure, it is ideally located in a quiet residential street which forms part of the central Conservation Area. It lies beside the pretty Sandford Park, and is just a brief stroll from the town's many shops, restaurants, theatres and bars. There are 12 comfortable rooms, and the hotel is efficiently run in a friendly and unstuffy manner by the staff and resident owners, Sophie and Greg.
Cheltenham is an excellent base for exploring the Cotswold Hills, one of the most beautiful areas in England. Mazy country lanes are perfect for wandering, and the beauty of its towns and villages built of mellow golden stone are famous. Tours by car, cycle or on foot are all highly rewarding. In particular, the two Romantic Road touring routes start and finish in Cheltenham, and are ideal for discovering the Cotswolds by car.
In addition, to the National Hunt Racing Festival, featuring the Gold Cup in March, there are a number of other race meetings. The race course is 25 minutes walk from the hotel.
