  • Glenan Lodge Guest House Inverness-shire - A JEWEL IN THE HIGHLANDS
Rob Coupar and Lesley Smithers welcome you to their relaxed and homely guesthouse – a traditional Scottish country home ideally situated on the edge
of the village of Tomatin. The village is in the midst of the Monadhliath Mountains in the valley of the river Findhorn.

Glenan Lodge has 7 bedrooms all of which are en-suite and have central heating, TV and tea and coffee making facilities. For the comfort of our guests we are a non-smoking establishment. The dining room is where you will be treated to a traditional breakfast and also an evening meal if you wish. Following your meal you may wish to take advantage of the license to sample the fine selection of Highland single malt whiskies on offer or simply relax in the comfort of our guest lounge.

The area is ideal for golf – there are a number of very prestigious courses including Royal Dornoch within an hour’s drive - shooting, fishing, bird-watching,hill walking, cycling, skiing or just relaxing, whether passing through or using the Lodge as your base. We can offer shooting packages for parties of 6 – 10 in the autumn & winter – please phone or email for more information. We can also arrange deer stalking on one of the local estates.

For the fly-fishing enthusiast we have a 2 mile beat on the river Findhorn available to our guests for some of the finest salmon and wild brown trout fishing in the area.

For the bird-watcher there is Loch Garten’s Ospreys, Loch Ruthven’s Slavonian Grebes and the Insh marshes winter wildfowl, not to mention Golden Eagles, Buzzards and Red Kites Scotland’s second largest malt whisky distillery is within walking distance of the Lodge and the village shop, post office and pub are only a short drive away.

Many places of historical interest are also close by including Culloden Battlefield, Cawdor Castle and, of course, Loch Ness. Skye and John O’Groats can also make a great day out as can Balmoral, the Queen’s summer residence.

Tomatin is on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park midway between the skiing centre of Aviemore and the City of Inverness, capital of the Highlands. An ideal base for exploring this most beautiful part of the UK.
