Larks Rise - Bed and Breakfast Bourton-on-the-Water - Larks Rise was awarded an AA Four Star Highly Commended rating in June 2007
Perfectly located on the edge of Bourton on the Water in the heart of the Cotswolds, Larks Rise is an ideal base for touring and walking, with the Windrush Way a minute from the door. The Village centre, with its excellent choice of shops, pubs, restaurants and attractions, is just 10 minutes walk.
Bill and Barbara moved to Larks Rise in August 2005, with a view to offering part of their home as Bed and Breakfast accommodation. The house has undergone considerable transformation, with carefully planned en-suite rooms (one king-size) for overnight guests. With their professional background of antiques and fine art, as well as property development and interior design, a stay at Larks Rise promises a unique experience of comfort and style, in a peaceful setting. A warm and hospitable welcome is assured, whilst your privacy will always be respected.
The Edwardian house stands in almost an acre of gardens so there is always somewhere secluded to sit for a while, and parking is never a problem.
Believing in simplicity, Bill and Barbara consider comfortable beds and superb breakfasts to be the essence of their business. All beds are pocket sprung with top quality down and feather bedding (synthetic by prior request), and breakfast choices include full English or Continental, with cereals, fruits and yoghurts, and typical Specials such as scrambled eggs and smoked salmon or porridge served with cream.
Three double bedrooms have been designed for the discerning guest. All are light and airy, with views over the gardens. Decoration is to the highest standard, and each room has its own style and personality. Two offer en-suite facilities, and the other has its own private bathroom just across the hall (a bathrobe is supplied). Controllable central heating, good ventilation and cooling fans for that heatwave all ensure a comfortable night. High quality complimentary toiletries are provided, as well as thoughtfully stocked hospitality trays. Fresh fruit is always available. Each bedroom has a fridge and TV/ DVD player. A book, film or cd may be chosen from the small library in the Guests' sitting room, or you might just settle in front of the log fire and play cards. And if you have forgotten to bring something you need, just ask – if at all possible, it will be provided.
Breakfast is served in a sunny room overlooking the gardens at tables for two, which can be combined for party bookings, or outside at one of the garden tables.
Larks Rise is a non-smoking home and regretfully it is not possible to accommodate children under 12 or pets.
