  • The Old Railway Station Walkerburn - Fishing - Singing - Walking - Art Courses
Nestling peacefully beside the River Tweed, the Old Railway Station has been extended over the original platform to provide comfortable Bed and Breakfast accommodation offering lovely views along the valley, secluded gardens and home comforts in a lovely tranquil setting.

Mid-way between Peebles and Galashiels and adjacent to the Southern Upland Way, we are ideally placed for touring the historic Border country and for walking, cycling, mountain-biking, riding, fishing, visiting the abbeys and stately houses, the beautiful gardens, the plethora of antique shops in the Border towns, or the capital city of Edinburgh. We can provide packed lunches for walkers and riders and accept pets by arrangement. We also operate a No Smoking Policy.

We also organise informal, short Specialist Courses and One-Day Workshops in Music, Singing and Painting for small groups up to 20. Includes singing walks, soirees and suppers. Extra Bed and Breakfast accommodation is available locally.

The Old Railway Station lies comfortably on the banks of the River Tweed, and there is good salmon and trout fishing available from the door. The next stretch of the river – about half a mile away – offers excellent salmon fishing for three rods, and permits are available.

THE OLD RAILWAY STATION is ideally placed on the banks of the River Tweed offering many interesting walks in the area. From the house there are quiet walks along the river banks or through the local plantations at Elibank, Caberston and Glen Benna.

A short drive away is the Glentress Outdoor Centre with miles of graded walks through the plantations offering some spectacular views of the surrounding hills. It is also a mountain biking centre and you will also find the Hub café there.

For the more adventurous, The Southern Upland Way, a long distance coast-to-coast walk, can be reached a short distance away from where walkers can follow short or long distances of the old drove road.
