Dalmore is a small, recently re-furbished, four bedroomed, bed & breakfast, with car parking facility. Our guests can expect a 'home from home' feeling when you staying at Dalmore.
Dalmore is only a 5 minute walk from Dumfries town centre and the River Nith. For shopping, Dumfries town centre offers a wide variety, with small independant shops and major high street names combined.
Have a walk around Dumfries town and find out about the birthplace of Robert Burns or visit one of the castles or churches steeped in history. Dumfries has plenty of walks, great wildlife, fishing and plenty of golf courses.
Dalmore is situated within a two minute walk to Dumfries railway station, where you can take a local train to Gretna Green or Carlisle. Within easy access to the motorway, Glasgow and Edinburgh can be reached by car in around 90 minutes, whilst driving out toward the west coast will take you to some of the most beautiful beaches in South West Scotland or to Stranraer where you can catch a ferry to Ireland.
We recently moved to Dumfries as we needed a challenge in life, so we decided to buy a Bed & Breakfast. It has given us the opportunity to start a new life and to meet new people from all over the world, which we very much enjoy.
Dalmore comprises of four bedrooms:
Room one is a newly decorated, neutral coloured, twin room, with tea/coffee making facilities and a TV.
Room two is another twin room nicely decorated in lilac, with tea/coffee making facilities, TV and ensuite.
Room three is a double room decorated in a calm yellow, with tea/coffee making facilities, TV and ensuite.
Room four is a single room, with tea/coffee making facilities and TV.
There is a shared bathroom for the twin and single rooms, which comprises of shower and a long bath so you can lie back and relax, after a long day walking, fishing, or playing golf or if you just want to simply unwind.
Restaurants and hotels serving good food to suit all tastes can be found in Dumfries and surrounding areas.
The River Nith is a two minute walk away and an excellent spot for fishing enthusiasts. Around and about there are many lochs, one of which is Loch Ken being renowned for its large pike and only a short drive away! Southern Scotland is an excellent place if you intend to catch salmon or trout from the many rivers, we will be happy to point you in the right direction.
Dumfries & Galloway is the home of cycling! The region has lots of quiet country roads. Dumfries & Galloway is also home to five of the 7stanes world class mountain bike centres.

There are many fine golf course in and around Dumfries, courses are located in Castle Douglas, Gatehouse, Dumfries Thornhill, Kirkcudbright, New Galloway and Dalbeattie to name but a few. If you are prepared to drive just a little further you will find the Ayrshire coastal resorts, including Turnberry and Royal Troon.
Dumfries and Galloway boasts some of the most spectacular views and scenery, from the magnificent scenery & wildlife of the Solway Coast to the Galloway Forest Park and the Galloway Hills. These areas are home to red and roe deer, otter, badger, arctic hare; birds of prey include Golden Eagle, Peregrine, Merlin, Hen Harriers, Goshawk and Red Kite. Several species of Wild Geese including Ospreys can be seen migrating at the RSPB reserve at Ken-Dee Marshes. A day can be easily spent with the camera or just looking.
