    This cosy traditional country cottage occupies a unique position being right in the centre of a peaceful village, yet only minutes from the internationally renowned festival capital city of Edinburgh. It provides luxury accommodation for 4 people plus baby, and is located directly opposite the village green which has safe play facilities for children.

    The cottage was completed in May 2004 and has full central heating throughout. The cosy lounge has a south-facing picture window looking out directly to the village green with its children's play facilities. It is equipped with TV/video/DVD player, radio/CD player and "wood burner effect" electric fire. A door leads out to the patio area at the rear.

    The modern kitchen is open-plan from the lounge, and is fully equipped with full-size electric oven and hob, microwave, automatic washer/dryer and fridge with freezer compartment. There is a dining table to seat 4, and a full range of utensils, crockery and cutlery is provided. A child's high chair is also available on request.

    The bathroom is located on the ground floor, and has an electric heated towel rail, shaver point (110/230V), wash basin, toilet and a bath with electric shower unit above.

    Upstairs, the double bedroom is equipped with a double bed, double wardrobe and a chest of drawers. A child's travel cot can also be provided on request. The dormer window has an open outlook to the Kingdom of Fife and the Forth Bridges.

    The twin bedroom is equipped with two single beds, double wardrobe and chest of drawers. The dormer window shares a similar view to the north as the double bedroom.

    In order to keep the cottage as fresh as possible, we operate a 'no smoking' and 'no pets' policy.

    Close by is the new Adventure Centre at Ratho, and the Midlothian Ski Centre at Hillend with all-year skiing (bring your skis or hire them on-site). The centre of Edinburgh is only 10 kilometres away, with all the attractions this World Heritage City has to offer, including the Castle, Holyrood Palace, world-class shopping, museums, art galleries and a myriad of boutiques and historic streets to explore in the Old Town.
    The area has a fine selection of restaurants and pubs, a swimming pool and a multi-screen cinema.

    The village is in a unique location, being only half a mile from the Edinburgh City Bypass with easy access to the M8, M9, M90 and M74 motorways, the A1 trunk road, the airport and the new Zeebrugge to Rosyth Superfast ferry terminal. There is a good regular bus service to and from Edinburgh city centre. The village enjoys a peaceful rural location and is an ideal base for exploring Edinburgh, Central Scotland, The Borders, Fife and Perthshire.
