  • The Glenforsa Hotel & Lodges Argyll & Bute - Angling - Bird-Watching - Hill / Mountain Walking
The Glenforsa Hotel on the Isle of Mull in the Inner Hebrides is a perfect holiday retreat in the west of Scotland - where mountain and sea blend together to give fantastic, panoramic views from the Hotel.

    Twin & Double Bedrooms
The hotel has 14 well-appointed twin / double rooms, 13 en-suite and one with a private bathroom.

Spacious lounges and dining room overlook the Sound of Mull and the mountains beyond.

    Dining Room
We offer in our Dining room traditional Scottish food using fresh local produce and also a number of specials each day.
It is not unusual to see wild salmon,
Mull oysters, fresh lobsters and seafood, locally caught trout or Scotch, Highland beef on the menu.

The Sound of Mull is a deep trench carved by retreating glaciation that separated Mull from mainland Scotland some twelve thousand years ago. The mountains of Morvern and Ardnamurchan are mirrored in the ever-changing waters away to the north, best savoured from the comfort of an armchair in the elevated observation lounge.

The Glenforsa Hotel is situated on the sheltered east coast of Mull at the narrow waist of the Island beside its only airfield - a superbly-maintained grass strip over 730 metres in length. Patrons who bring their own aircraft have ample, safe parking facilities adjacent to the Hotel. Oban's Airport, Connel, is only ten minutes' flying time away and has aviation fuel. Glenforsa's runway is east/west - Connel's north/south. Glenforsa, (Norse for Glen of the swiftly-flowing river) is ideally situated for visiting the sacred Island of Iona, Treshnish and the remarkable little island of Staffa - immortalised by Felix Mendelssohn in his 'Hebrides' Overture.

Craignure, Mull's main ferry-terminal with Oban, is ten miles to the south. The service,
a forty five-minute sailing from Oban, is operated by Caledonian MacBrayne

Mull is the third-largest island off the British Isles - with a land
area of 353 square miles but with a tiny population of under
2,800. (Compare this with Jersey - 45 square miles and
89,361 residents!) Outdoor pursuits include angling,
    bird-watching and hill walking - Ben More - at 3,169 ft -
our only Munro - is a mere twelve miles
    from The Glenforsa Hotel.
