Set in seven acres the Sid Valley Country House Hotel, originally 17th Century, is one of those special places that is rarely found. There is no better way to discover Devon, inland and coast, than at the Sid Valley, which provides a relaxed atmosphere with professional service and luxurious surroundings, spacious and comfortably furnished lounges, attentiveness, efficiency and hospitality and staff to aid relaxation and provide a peaceful retreat.
OPEN ALL YEAR ROUND
Sid Valley Country House Hotel is our privately-owned business, to which we bring over 20 years experience, and we really delight in looking after our guests. It's your holiday, and we go out of our way to make your stay in this beautiful part of the country truly memorable. For instance, mealtimes are flexible, and if you need a picnic lunch, or anyone fancies a bed time brandy or Horlicks, it's yours for the asking! In other words, we offer a very personal service at all times.
Relax and enjoy a drink and good company in the bar or one of our residential lounges, where we offer unobtrusive service. Flowers adorn all the rooms, their scent in competition with the tang of wood smoke from the log fires.
All our food home made and prepared daily from fresh produce - with our own home baked bread. A wide and varied menu is always available in our restaurant.
The well stocked wine cellar offers European and New World wines, and perhaps afterwards a liquer to round off the evening.
We look forward very much to welcoming you - from the moment you arrive you'll know you have made the right choice.
Whether you choose a double, twin or family room, all are light, airy and luxuriously furnished, with en suite facilities, and commanding country views, some with south facing balconies affording views over the Sid Valley and beyond. Every bedroom offers individual design and luxurious decor. All have private bathroom, colour television, trouser press, tea and coffee facilities, radio alarm, direct dial telephone and hair dryer.
For those of you holidaying with children we also offer a child listening service, on request.
For honeymooners, wedding anniversaries or any other special occasion. A champagne breakfast on the sun balcony will always be remembered.
And, as a lasting happy memory, take home one of our imaginative floral arrangements, made by
Chelsea Flower Show Award Winner Sarah!

All the food in our newly refurbished restaurant is home made and and prepared daily from fresh produce with home baked bread a popular speciality of the house! A wide and varied menu is always available. Visitors' all-time favourites include pot roast pheasant flamed in brandy with red wine sauce, and we believe in keeping everyone happy with a well balanced choice of both traditional and more adventurous dishes. Plus of course, vegetarian meals and, on request, dishes for those on special diets. On balmy summer evenings, why not take your meal on the sun terrace.

Equidistant between the market town of Honiton and Regency Sidmouth, the Sid Valley Country Hotel is at the centre of an area of outstanding natural beauty. Walkers are in seventh heaven in this area, with the coastal path beckoning to the south and a network of public footpaths through meadows, along riverbanks and across moorland. The Rivers Sid, Otter and Axe offer excellent fishing, with plenty seashore and boat fishing available.
As well as the many local walks, in addition there is cycling, fishing and horse riding with our own pony or at nearby stables. And for golfers, there are a number of superb courses close by with reduced green fees for hotel guests at Sidmouth Golf Club.
The East Devon Coast has recently been awarded World Heritage status. We are well places for many National Trust properties, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.
The Sid Valley Country Hotel is ideally placed for you to enjoy all that Devon has to offer. Sidmouth, with its level streets and promenade and pretty shops is just a few miles away. A little further brings you to the old smuggling village of Beer with its Pecorama model railway, or to Seaton for the electric Tramway. The Cathedral city of Exeter with its historic Quayside and interesting shopping centre is less than half an hour away, and Dartmoor or Exmoor are an easy drive.
