  • Manorvilla Cottage Dryslwyn - Working Farm - Country Life - Country Travel
Take a deep breath and throw your cares to the wind. Come and enjoy gentle slopes, meadows, wooded valleys, sparkling rivers and clean sandy beaches. This area is known as “The Garden of Wales” having The National Botanical Garden of Wales and Aberglasney historic garden and house (as seen in the BBC series “Aberglasney – a garden lost in time”) on the doorstep.

Manorvilla is a spacious, luxury 5 Star self-catering holiday cottage attached to a working beef and sheep farm in the Towy valley. If you stay at the property in March you may wish to watch the sheep lambing, our calves are being born throughout the year so you may be here to watch a calf born.

Manorvilla comfortably sleeps seven and is fully equipped and tastefully furnished with an open fireplace in the sitting room as well as full central heating throughout. Enjoy a cosy candlelit dinner or BBQ in the garden, depending on the weather. You may also like to picnic on the banks of the river Towy.

The sitting room has comfortable leather 2 and 3 seater sofas, a TV and DVD player and radio and CD player. Coffee tables and table lamps, a log fire and candles makes this a very cosy room.

The kitchen/ dining room is fully equipped with modern fitted units, a washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, electric oven/hob/grill, kettle, toaster and all the utensils, crockery and cutlery you may need during your stay.

The cottage has four bedrooms and bathroom on the first floor. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, the double bedroom has a double bed, twin beds in the third bedroom and a further bedroom has a single bed. The bathroom contains a white suite and consists of a bath with shower over, wash basin with shaver point and WC. Towels are provided. You should bring your own beach towels with you. A Travel Cot and high chair can be made available.

Outside is an enclosed garden and patio area with a rotary clothesline. Ample parking is available at the cottage.

    General Information:
One well-behaved small dog is welcome free of charge. The dog must never be left alone at the property and owners must provide a sleeping basket or blanket as a dog is allowed on the clear understanding that in no circumstances may the dog be allowed in bedrooms or on furniture.

We operate a non-smoking policy in the cottage but you are welcome to smoke in the garden.

You may wish to shop at Tesco online before your departure and have your provisions waiting for you at the cottage on your arrival. We can arrange to take delivery of your goods and place in fridge/freezer as appropriate by prior arrangement.

A selection of home-made cakes will be available at the cottage on your arrival and will be our way of extending a warm Welsh welcome to you.

An abundance of Welsh castles, Newton House and Deer Park, Talley Abbey, Dolau Cothi Gold Mine, the Gwili Steam Railway and the Brecon Beacons National Park are all within a short driving distance. The glorious sandy beaches of Pembrokeshire and the Gower are also within easy reach. The historic market town of Carmarthen, the home of “Merlin” of Arthurian legend is 7 miles away and Llandeilo known for it’s antique shops, craft shops, art galleries and quaint tea-rooms is 5 miles away.

The river Towy is well known for its fishing, the sea trout catches are greater than any river in Europe, the average weight caught being 5 lbs. However you may prefer to picnic on the banks and watch the swans glide by, while kingfishers play in the water and red kites float above you.
